Experience Schwarzwaldhaus Barth – a lovingly renovated holiday home combining traditional charm with modern comfort.

Located above the village of Gutach along the scenic Black Forest Railway, it offers sweeping views over the valley and surrounding mountains, with direct access to nature. Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a break with friends, an active vacation, or a workation – our home is a place for relaxation and shared experiences.

With three bedrooms, a winter garden, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cosy living area, it’s the perfect retreat in the Black Forest.

Built in 1936 and carefully renovated in 2025 by us – a German-French family with roots in the Black Forest – the house blends traditional architecture with contemporary comfort. We are excited to share this special place with you.

Schwarzwaldhaus Barth offers approx. 160 m² of living space over two floors – stylishly renovated and thoughtfully furnished.

The surroundings
Schwarzwaldhaus Barth is located in Gutach – elevated for scenic views, yet within walking distance of the village centre.
Bakery, butcher, supermarket, ice cream shop and traditional inn are just a few minutes away on foot. Several playgrounds are nearby, and hiking trails start right outside the door.
The area offers a wide variety of activities – from nature to culture, and fun outings for all ages.

How does booking work?
You can book directly via our website, by email, or through platforms like Airbnb. For direct bookings, we’ll send you a written confirmation with all details.
How do I pay?
Payment is by bank transfer: 30% deposit upon booking, remaining balance due 14 days before arrival.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival
50% of total price for cancellations up to 14 days before arrival
100% for cancellations less than 14 days before arrival We recommend travel cancellation insurance.
Is there a minimum stay?
During mid and high season, we rent by the week (Saturday to Saturday).
In the low season, other arrival/departure days may be arranged – just get in touch.
When is check-in/check-out?
Check-in: from 4 pm | Check-out: by 10 am
We’re flexible if there’s no direct booking overlap.
Where can I park?
You’ll have three private parking spaces – one in the garage, two outside the house.
How is cleaning handled?
Final cleaning is carried out by a professional team and included in the price.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the house – ideal for remote work or video calls.
Are pets allowed?
No – unfortunately, we cannot allow pets, out of consideration for allergy-sensitive guests.
Is linen included?
Yes – bed linen, hand and bath towels are included.
You’ll also find kitchen towels, bath mats and a child-friendly laundry package.
Is there baby and toddler equipment?
Yes – the house is a little paradise for children and includes:
cot, high chairs (including Tripp Trapp), night light, bottle warmer, bed guard, potty, toilet seat insert, step stool, baby bathtub and a safety gate upstairs.
Is the house accessible?
As a traditional Black Forest house with stairs, the property is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
However, strollers can be brought in via a small ramp with just one step. Please contact us for specific questions – we’re happy to help.
Is smoking allowed?
The house is strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on the balconies and terrace.
Are there shops nearby?
Yes – bakery, butcher, ice cream shop, inn, and a supermarket are all within 5–15 minutes on foot.
Larger supermarkets, pharmacies, and other shops are just 10 minutes away by car in Hornberg or Hausach.
What about extreme weather?
The house is comfortable all year round – in summer, the living area has air conditioning, while in winter a central heating system and wood-burning stove keep things cosy.
Do we receive a guidebook or additional info?
Yes – two weeks before arrival, we’ll send you a digital guidebook with all the key information about the house, your arrival, and our favourite places and tips for the region.

All prices include tourist tax and utilities, plus a one-time cleaning fee of EUR 180. Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am (flexible with key box).
Rentals are usually weekly from Saturday to Saturday.
In the low season (Nov–Mar, except Christmas/New Year), other check-in/check-out days are available upon request.
